B.A. Nursing, M.A. Counseling (USA)
LMHC, RN (FL, USA)
Matt is a Licensed Mental Health Counselor and Qualified Supervisor in Florida. He has received training in Emotionally-Focused Couples Therapy as well as a variety of individual approaches, ranging from brief therapies to depth psychology. He divides his clientele between those seeking immediate resolution using more Cognitive-Behavioral techniques, and those who want to walk into the psychodynamic weeds in pursuit of characterological growth and change.
Matt is also a licensed Registered Nurse in Florida, and thus enjoys providing basic education to his clients about medications and the brain. He is passionate about navigating with his clients the barriers they experience to achieving their goals in relationships, career, and inner life.
In his work, he has seen people discover hope in the face of suicidal impulses or emotional dysregulation, improve test scores by reducing anxiety, solve workplace issues and achieve promotions, restore delight in their marriages, navigate life and relationships in the context of neurodivergence, and face past trauma safely in order to experience freedom and joy in the present.
Since Matt grew up amongst a culturally diverse group of friends in China and Malaysia, he learned to value the differences that make our stories important. He is honored to be invited into the process of each client's growth and development as they gain new insight into their unique identity and inherent value.
